What is a Strong Woman?

July 12,2012

A strong woman is one with a mind of her own, gifted with smarts and common sense. Otherwise, she would simply be stubborn and obstinate, a shrew, a termagant.
A strong woman sees life for what it is, and will deal with it on the terms she has chosen. She respects her own person and understands her worth, and looks out for herself and the people she cares about.
She tends to be successful, because she sets goals and works to achieve them. A strong woman will control her desires and feelings, especially is she knows that there's a dead end ahead.
Strong women from out-spoken and in-your-face to quiet but steely of resolve, to permutations in between. One characteristic that I've noticed strong women share is the understanding that knowledge and wisdom are important tools. So they take education seriously, because it represents independence, the ability to earn their own keep, and it opens up different options in their lives.
It's no wonder that strong women aren't too trusting, because they know only too well about human frailty and betrayal. So they tend to listen to words with a grain of salt. Men need to earn their respect and trust with their actions. And in every woman, as in every man, lies the wish to be loved truly. Good old-fashioned respect is indispensable in a positive relationship with a woman, whether personal or professional, romantic or platonic, whatever it may be.
As you would wish to be respected, then should you extend respect. Especially with a strong woman. Why? Well, because she is strong, so you don't want to face the consequences. That, of course, is tongue-in-cheek.

I've never believed that men are stronger than women or vice versa, because each gender is made and wired differently. There is just no apples-to-apples comparison. That's why we partner with and support each other. Its the best arrangement. And if a woman is strong, why then, celebrate and rejoice in her strength.

Above all, a strong woman is the one who fears GOD, having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and constantly talking to Him through prayer. Who reads the Bible as her daily bread and guidance. A woman who lives in godly, modest and contented life. And foresee Heaven as her wonderful home.

Are you a strong woman??

PROVERBS 31:30 Charm is deceitful, beauty is passing, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised!

Our Greatest Need

July 9,2012

We are creatures with all kinds of needs. Without air, water or food for instance, we can't go on living. In addition to these absolutely basic necessities, we have a host of others that must be meet if we are to be healthy and happy. But these needs are just not physical, emotional and social; they are also spiritual.

I was a Christian for more than two decades now, and being one requires me to go to church every Sunday. I grew up in church, attend Sunday school, memorizing Bible verses, listened to Pastor's sermon, had friendship with the believers, and got ministered on music. Life of a Christian is like a roller coaster ride, it wasn't that easy at all. I had also my dark and lonely nights, doubts and fears assailed me, and a feeling of no escape of problem. I tossed and turned just as others do. I even asked God about my faith, minds in jumble, got to hold the bull on its thorns and ended up sinned.

Somehow, on marvelous way, I turned again to my Shepherd. I prayed, confessed my sin, asked for forgiveness and He forgive me again. I developed a wonderful relationship with Jesus Christ. Thought that I need God. That I'm sick and can no longer make it alone. I need God to help me give, because I no longer seem to be capable of giving. To help me kind,as capable of kindness. To help me love, as I seem beyond being able to love. By His Holy Spirit I enable myself to be kind, generous and loving.

For now, Ive been thanking God not just for the many blessings, but even on problems- that in it I realized that God was MY GREATEST NEED. = )

" When we have nothing left but God, we find that God is enough "

Matthew 4:4 It is written, "Man shall not live by bread alone , but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. "

Affection

June 13,2012

Everything has ended right away. It was like a dream that after waking up, the story has ended also. It was like a movie without part-2 , that left you wondering what's the next story. Its like prowling outside but didn't really actively looking for something. The truth is, your mind wanders somewhere far away. Then sadness creeps in, bitterness started to control you, "move on" seems the hardest words you ever heard. The moment you started begging for that something, was the moment you petty yourself. It was an inconsolable time, perplex mind was its peak. Your working but end up procrastinating. Everyday was a bummer, crabby attitude was evident. Have you ever wonder how expressive of sorrow your life is?
But at the end of the day you still can say, " Happy to someone who have built extensions to my boat and have made marks in my heart." Then  RESILIENCY become your favorite word and liked so much the Buddhist proverb, "The lotus blooms most beautifully from the deepest and thickest mud."
The Bible became your favorite book, you meant it as a bread for daily used, and so it was. Day and night you spend time reading and understanding it. You've found out that the word of God answers what you keep praying on. That in His words and presence you've find peace and strength. "Heaven and earth shall passed away but my words remain forever." Then on you relent on forgiveness, you've learn to let go, you've learned humility. Someone then asked you, " How did you find peace?" You answered, " You've got to let go of the stuff- because it just doesn't matter. The only thing that matters is what you choose to be now." -from watching Kung Fu Panda =) But the real thing is this, you've learned a striking Bible Verses during you Sunday School.

John 16:33 These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.

Psalm 34:4 I sought the Lord, and He heard me and delivered me from all my fears.

"You cannot changed the cards that was given to you, only the way you deal with them." If God allows you with circumstances still, give thanks! Pretty sure with the help of God's grace, you will overcome it and end victorious. God Bless you all!

Taking Dare on Indoor Golf

 June 8, 2012

It's already June! Time changes so fast-thus we started the first day of the month trying another undertaking.

Out of boredom strikes the idea of meeting up with my adventure bud Joann. It was the 6th months of Singles Club (our Single-hood awareness day =) )and celebrating the event come up the concept of trying the "INDOOR GOLF". I'm not a fan of of this sport, but I knew some famous international and local celebrity who's playing this- Of course the famous Tiger Woods comes first to mind :)

This thing was endorsed by my friend Mechel who's working at that Golf shop- name was Malgosh Inc. located at Acacia, Davao City just in front of STI College. It was a Golf shop selling different Golf materials but upstairs, they're offering Indoor Golf with the rate of  Php 100.00 / hour :)

Meet up the Iron's with specific numbers and the golf balls

Joann with my friend Mechel, teaching us how to handle properly the Iron

she is so good at this! :) it was "addicting" she said .
 Kudos twin!

This is what you call a PUTTER, designed primarily to roll the ball along the grass, generally from a point on the putting green towards the cup.

And here's the main event, my super blooper vid! hahaha
titled as " THE RABBIT is TALKING"
credits to Joann for this vid- mwah!

anyways.. trying golf seems so easy right? but to tell you it was really difficult at first!

That's why a day after I got muscle pains. =(

Our Tomorrows

June 2,2012

While we wouldn't want to argue with Jesus, we may sometimes wonder if His words about worry are realistic. After all, shouldn't we be concerned about tomorrow? Suppose we get laid off from work? Get sick? Isn't fear that we won't have bread and threads and shelter one of the strongest fears we have?

No words in any language can produce more anxiety than the question, "What if?" As we mutter them, we begin to imagine one bad possibilities together. We don't think about the fact that our needs have always been met in the past and that we have enough for today. There is always that uneasy dread that tomorrow our well may run dry.

While it is certainly wise to plan for the future, the imagined thirst of tomorrow, even though our well is full today, is one thirst that is unquenchable. Jesus taught that worrying about the future is futile. We shouldn't be traumatized by what might happen or by what might be required of us. The imaginary need of tomorrow is one need that God cannot meet.

If God has given us food and drink enough for today, why not let Him worry about our tomorrows?

Do not worry about your life, what you will eat; nor about the body, what you will put on.  Luke 12:22

Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about it's own things.  Matthew 6:34

Saturday Thoughts

April 28,2012
I chose to be Beautiful.

Watta thought! Let's just say I'm a bit narcissistic today hehe. When I was young, I don't see myself as very attractive (even now). I'm not a head turner, I was just a flower in a wall with no one wants to pick up. Maybe because I was really fat and dark that cause me to petty myself much before. I just realized that beauty isn't only superficial but skin deep. Being beautiful starts from within yourself that reflects outside. I just noticed that women who are happy living the life they love, are the ones who are really beautiful. It isn't limited to physical attributes, or just how the person acts on social settings, but its living a wonderful and great life that makes someone glow.

In my life's relation, this April has been the worst month of year 2012. I was really in the state of always welcoming negative thoughts that cause me to worry much and thus became a worrywart. I tend to write posts on this blog but it all turns out to be drafts! I couldn't finish it since I cant concentrate. I was filled with anxiety to things that I'm not sure to happen or never will. Then there comes a time that I looked myself in front of the mirror. I saw a ugly duckling! Where's the swan?! (echos). I was stressed and I didn't looked good. So I tried to think. Worrying doesn't improve what my future plans, It only ruins my time at the present which I was supposed to be enjoying. It's futile to fret, cause worrying will not change anything, it doesn't solve any problem at all.  It only makes me feel depressed and ugly. So, I shake that stressed away baby and chose to be PRETTY! :)

We mostly forget that it is the quality and not the quantity of life we need to feel in order for us to have good outlook and beautiful life. Its better to add life to your years than to add years to your life. Let's just enjoy life and what it will offer us and most importantly, what we accomplish for the Lord makes our life  more meaningful :)

so I need to rephrase the thought mention above:

I chose to be Beautiful - Holistically

Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing, but a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised.
Proverbs 31:30

Hoping Back for Good

 April 7,2012

What I did this Holy week was contemplating about my career path. I was happy and bit jealous when Ive found out that my classmates and friends already in other countries pursuing their nursing career. I was in a world of clutter when it comes to my career. I have no work as of the moment and Ive been doing a lot to find one. You couldn't be hired unless you already experienced at least 1 year in this field and that's my problem. I'll be so much lucky if the company or hospital doesn't require experience. Pursuing nursing now is my first time, I've been away for this for more that 2 years already, and I really need to refresh all my learnings and thoughts  with this course- and so it will just fall down to TRAININGS- which I'll be doing soon to other place, outside Davao.

I'm adjusting to my situation today. I'm at home always, its hard to stay at home when you've been into  working and outside world before. I've felt claustrophobic at the four corners of my crib.

Everyday, we faced different challenges in every aspects of life. It could be family, financial, friends, emotions. Letting go.. seems easy to say yet very difficult to do. I'm so guilty of this. Lots of thoughts I couldn't let go yet, and thus creates confusion inside my head! One of those is my career path. I don't have yet final decision but I guess more percentage of going to other place to train up nursing will succeed . Being back to my course is I guess will put me to good decision? hoping and kept praying for it.
