IGACOS 1: Monfort Bat Cave / Sanctuary

July 24,2012

Since the plan for Gumasa didn't come to reality, me and Joann had our plan B, and this is our agenda :

WHAT : Monfort Bat Cave / Sanctuary and Hagimit Falls
WHEN : July 21, 2012
WHERE : Island Garden City of Samal (IGACOS)

Since its weekend and to avoid rushing and queuing people, me and Joann met up at Magsaysay Park, Sta. Ana Davao City to wait for the bus going to IGACOS. Our first stop was Monfort Bat Cave at Brgy. Tambo Babak, IGACOS. The bus fare going to Babak proper was php 30.00 and from there to the Bat Cave is php 30.00 per person via motorcycle. Motorcycle is the commonly used transportation in the city so I have no choice but to ride on it though I was really scared haha.

THE ADVENTURE STARTS HERE! (ON THE MOTORCYCLE HUHU)
It was a bumpy ride en route to the site since the road was under construction. So it heightened more my anxiety riding the motorcycle and we didn't used helmet LOL. My butt and my legs was really stressed that time :( anyhow, not more than 20 minutes you'll be there.

ENTRY ^.^
JUST ARRIVED- PAYING MOMENTS (SHOCKED MODE!! WHAT??!!)
Arriving and upon paying the entrance fee, we are really shocked because of the php 100.00 fee! Darn. We thought it was just php 40.00- 50.00 hays, we have no choice or else.. haha . They've increase since November last year due to lack of government support/ funds since it was a private property spot. Thank God, I brought extra cash huhu.

WITH TWIN SISSY JOANN F.!
Anyhow moving on, the place was big ( I never thought so ), and I was amazed to know that MBC/S is a Guiness Book record holder due to the number of  rousettus amplexicaudatus the kind of bat that stays there.

Last 2006 the sanctuary was awarded and during that time the estimated number of bats was 1.8 million how much more now??! So how did they came up with that 1.8 million? According to Emerry one of the staff there, the way of getting that number was to count a number of bats in a one square meter multiply it to the total square area of the cave cool!  hahaha :)

THE ENTRANCE TO BATMAN'S HIDING PLACE LOL
A LITTLE TREKKING
I was overwhelmed with what I saw! super dami nila! That little color black hanging in the walls of the cave give me goosebumps! LOL. eehh

The place was noisy and smelly due to the bat's population and poos (that is used as fertilizers also) Though I really want to touch and hold that little batman but prohibited.

However, sightseeing of bats is not the only activity we've done there. Because of the php 100.00 entrance fee that caught us off guard we made "sulit nalang" the payment. We took pictures galore, went on to the bat exhibit hall, chill time with Emerry who is very talkative and even got to see and know the owner Ms. Monfort, and of course enjoy the beauty of nature.

THE JUMPSHOT TURNS OUT TO BE SERIES SHOT HAHA IKAW NA!

AT THE BAT EXHIBIT HALL

BABY BAT LOST IN THE C.R.

IN AWE.. HOW BEAUTIFUL HAYS :)

:) After all the things we did here.. we now bid goodbye and went on to our next stop!
so, do you have any memories and experienced at Monfort Bat Sanctuary?
Please free to share at the box below :)
to be continued....for  Hagimit Falls

Friends in God

July 22,2012

Its hypocrite to say that we don't need friends. All of us need at least one or two close friends. Someone who knows all about you and like you just the same. To have someone who remains true to us under circumstances is one of the choicest blessings. The support and encouragement that only an intimate friend can offer is surely needed when the burdens of life  weigh heavily upon us.
But, its more joyous to developed friendship with fellas who are "believers" or those who have the same belief in terms of your spiritual life.
In my own observation, (not to biased with my old friends, of course I still love them and always be) my friends in God are the ones who encourages me to continue serving the Lord in all circumstances, living godly life, singing praises and worship for Him. Doing devotion with them, sharing Bible verses and praying for each other.  Sharing up testimonies that inspires me on how God was there for them in success and failures. How God lifted up their heels when their down and how God blessed their humble beginnings. How great it is to celebrate God's love with friends who feel the same towards Him!
On the other hand, my heart sorrows to those who got friends that put them to danger and works that does not pleases God. Remember, evil company corrupts good habits. Influence is such a powerful word, and in my own opinion its not wrong to choose your friends. I think its one of the wisest thing to do. If you know some of them, please pray for them.

Above all, Jesus is our ultimate friend. For He laid down His life for His friends. :) GOD BLESS YOU !

MY FRIENDS IN GOD! THANK YOU FRIENDS :)

What is a Strong Woman?

July 12,2012

A strong woman is one with a mind of her own, gifted with smarts and common sense. Otherwise, she would simply be stubborn and obstinate, a shrew, a termagant.
A strong woman sees life for what it is, and will deal with it on the terms she has chosen. She respects her own person and understands her worth, and looks out for herself and the people she cares about.
She tends to be successful, because she sets goals and works to achieve them. A strong woman will control her desires and feelings, especially is she knows that there's a dead end ahead.
Strong women from out-spoken and in-your-face to quiet but steely of resolve, to permutations in between. One characteristic that I've noticed strong women share is the understanding that knowledge and wisdom are important tools. So they take education seriously, because it represents independence, the ability to earn their own keep, and it opens up different options in their lives.
It's no wonder that strong women aren't too trusting, because they know only too well about human frailty and betrayal. So they tend to listen to words with a grain of salt. Men need to earn their respect and trust with their actions. And in every woman, as in every man, lies the wish to be loved truly. Good old-fashioned respect is indispensable in a positive relationship with a woman, whether personal or professional, romantic or platonic, whatever it may be.
As you would wish to be respected, then should you extend respect. Especially with a strong woman. Why? Well, because she is strong, so you don't want to face the consequences. That, of course, is tongue-in-cheek.

I've never believed that men are stronger than women or vice versa, because each gender is made and wired differently. There is just no apples-to-apples comparison. That's why we partner with and support each other. Its the best arrangement. And if a woman is strong, why then, celebrate and rejoice in her strength.

Above all, a strong woman is the one who fears GOD, having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and constantly talking to Him through prayer. Who reads the Bible as her daily bread and guidance. A woman who lives in godly, modest and contented life. And foresee Heaven as her wonderful home.

Are you a strong woman??

PROVERBS 31:30 Charm is deceitful, beauty is passing, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised!

Our Greatest Need

July 9,2012

We are creatures with all kinds of needs. Without air, water or food for instance, we can't go on living. In addition to these absolutely basic necessities, we have a host of others that must be meet if we are to be healthy and happy. But these needs are just not physical, emotional and social; they are also spiritual.

I was a Christian for more than two decades now, and being one requires me to go to church every Sunday. I grew up in church, attend Sunday school, memorizing Bible verses, listened to Pastor's sermon, had friendship with the believers, and got ministered on music. Life of a Christian is like a roller coaster ride, it wasn't that easy at all. I had also my dark and lonely nights, doubts and fears assailed me, and a feeling of no escape of problem. I tossed and turned just as others do. I even asked God about my faith, minds in jumble, got to hold the bull on its thorns and ended up sinned.

Somehow, on marvelous way, I turned again to my Shepherd. I prayed, confessed my sin, asked for forgiveness and He forgive me again. I developed a wonderful relationship with Jesus Christ. Thought that I need God. That I'm sick and can no longer make it alone. I need God to help me give, because I no longer seem to be capable of giving. To help me kind,as capable of kindness. To help me love, as I seem beyond being able to love. By His Holy Spirit I enable myself to be kind, generous and loving.

For now, Ive been thanking God not just for the many blessings, but even on problems- that in it I realized that God was MY GREATEST NEED. = )

" When we have nothing left but God, we find that God is enough "

Matthew 4:4 It is written, "Man shall not live by bread alone , but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. "

Affection

June 13,2012

Everything has ended right away. It was like a dream that after waking up, the story has ended also. It was like a movie without part-2 , that left you wondering what's the next story. Its like prowling outside but didn't really actively looking for something. The truth is, your mind wanders somewhere far away. Then sadness creeps in, bitterness started to control you, "move on" seems the hardest words you ever heard. The moment you started begging for that something, was the moment you petty yourself. It was an inconsolable time, perplex mind was its peak. Your working but end up procrastinating. Everyday was a bummer, crabby attitude was evident. Have you ever wonder how expressive of sorrow your life is?
But at the end of the day you still can say, " Happy to someone who have built extensions to my boat and have made marks in my heart." Then  RESILIENCY become your favorite word and liked so much the Buddhist proverb, "The lotus blooms most beautifully from the deepest and thickest mud."
The Bible became your favorite book, you meant it as a bread for daily used, and so it was. Day and night you spend time reading and understanding it. You've found out that the word of God answers what you keep praying on. That in His words and presence you've find peace and strength. "Heaven and earth shall passed away but my words remain forever." Then on you relent on forgiveness, you've learn to let go, you've learned humility. Someone then asked you, " How did you find peace?" You answered, " You've got to let go of the stuff- because it just doesn't matter. The only thing that matters is what you choose to be now." -from watching Kung Fu Panda =) But the real thing is this, you've learned a striking Bible Verses during you Sunday School.

John 16:33 These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.

Psalm 34:4 I sought the Lord, and He heard me and delivered me from all my fears.

"You cannot changed the cards that was given to you, only the way you deal with them." If God allows you with circumstances still, give thanks! Pretty sure with the help of God's grace, you will overcome it and end victorious. God Bless you all!

Our Tomorrows

June 2,2012

While we wouldn't want to argue with Jesus, we may sometimes wonder if His words about worry are realistic. After all, shouldn't we be concerned about tomorrow? Suppose we get laid off from work? Get sick? Isn't fear that we won't have bread and threads and shelter one of the strongest fears we have?

No words in any language can produce more anxiety than the question, "What if?" As we mutter them, we begin to imagine one bad possibilities together. We don't think about the fact that our needs have always been met in the past and that we have enough for today. There is always that uneasy dread that tomorrow our well may run dry.

While it is certainly wise to plan for the future, the imagined thirst of tomorrow, even though our well is full today, is one thirst that is unquenchable. Jesus taught that worrying about the future is futile. We shouldn't be traumatized by what might happen or by what might be required of us. The imaginary need of tomorrow is one need that God cannot meet.

If God has given us food and drink enough for today, why not let Him worry about our tomorrows?

Do not worry about your life, what you will eat; nor about the body, what you will put on.  Luke 12:22

Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about it's own things.  Matthew 6:34
